New DVD Authoring Software Review Site
The beauty of working at a software review company is when your family has software questions you have answers, or if you don't have answers you can go to work and get paid to find those answers. Such is the case with our new DVD Authoring Software review.
A family member wanted to take all of their home movies and transfer them to DVDs with menus and navigation, that way he didn't have to hook up the camcorder to the television and use it like a makeshift VCR or DVD player fast forwarding through a bunch of video no one wants to see, to get to the part they do want to see.
From that need our DVD Authoring site was born. The main purpose of the DVD Authoring software we reviewed is to do just as our relative asked, copy home video recordings to a DVD with built in navigation; things like chapter and title selection.
The products listed in our top 5 are all really pretty good programs, each with unique features. We tried to keep our "average Joe" audience in mind when choosing and ranking the best DVD Authoring software applications and that is why DVD MovieFactory came out as our #1 pick.
DVD MovieFactory is a program that is really easy to use for those only moderately familiar with multimedia software, but it is powerful and versatile for more experienced users to appreciate. You can create custom chapters, create and save custom menu templates, animate your thumbnails, insert opening sequences and a whole lot more. After this review was completed and said relative was presented with their answer they really liked the DVD MovieFactory software. The movies came out great and it was almost effortless, at least on their end.
Sony DVD Architect Studio and AVS DVD Authoring landed in our number 2 and 3 spots respectively. Both of these programs are great applications, but we found that Sony was a little too difficult to understand and had a huge learning curve; and AVS, while extremely easy to use, was lacking some of additional features found in DVD MovieFactory like direct capture and slideshow support.
For more information and DVD Authoring Software check our new review site. In includes comprehensive reviews and a side-by-side comparison of some of the best DVD Authoring software available. DVD MovieFactory also made it on to one of our Holiday Hotlists, check out more gifts for under $50.
We would like to mention that DVD Authoring software is not Video Editing software. Most of these applications have very limited editing abilities. If you would like to edit your video before uploading it into and authoring application see our Video Editing software reviews.
